I have this problem from the get go on this computor.

When I shutdown or restart I am loosing files or they get lost.

I have made it a habit now to open CCCleaner and check my installed programs before running them because of this prob...Even when I go to uninstall a program through windows I get a problem error and that the program has aleady been uninstalled but it hasn't.

I attached a screenshot from CC from this morning after my computor was shutdown and restarted.

How can I tell if my videocard is not working properly? Video games for example drag, hiccup and just play like poo for the most part.

    Thanks Guys!

    Hi

as you're using Vista, are you in the admin account? if not login to the admin account and also try safe mode (F8 at boot) to see if the same issues happen.

Just thinking with weird issues that you are haing that a possible is malware, so do run the Read and Run Me guide we have Malware in the Malware Forum to get checked out.

as for Video Games, you could run 3Dmark06 and also grab the patch as well as check for updates and newrer patches at futuremark for Vista, then compare your results with like for like hardware on their site, may need to register for an account.

I ran the Malware scanners and removed what was on here which was very little.

I didn't really think that was the problem but went thru the steps as a precaution.

I had this computor built back in November and have had proba with it since week one. Infact it was wiped clean an reloaded about a month later and the guy who built it and reinstalled everything again said my registry was all messed up so he couldn't just fix it, He had to start over again and reinstall eveything. So thinking all was fixed he brought it back and it ran fine for about a week or two and then the same problems started happening again.

He has no idea why this thing is loosing registry entries, program files where a program has been installed but actually shows its been uninstalled after I reboot. And it has literally been uninstalled but not by me.

Now I am loosing my network connection even though the other computors have a connection, I have to use diagnose and repair to get my connection back but windows of course finds no problem when I run it.
Hotmail login tells me I need java script to run it properly but then finds it.

In my mind its like the arms and legs aren't communicating with the brain.

So could it be a bad harddrive,motherboard....any suggestions guys?

No ne can figure this out and its driving me nuts and its getting worse.

I've lost my connection 4 times since I started this post.

So hope I gave you enough to get your master brains thinking!

I dont want to buy a new harddrive, MB..etc if I dont need it.

Thanks again for your input and computor wisdom.

    Thanks Dom,
I uninstalled one of the defragmenters and checked to make sure I didn't have the one provided with windows to auto run...I didn't.

Here is a screenshot of my startup from CC.

Yes I have it and run it once a month and most of the time it tells me the registry is fine. I think Its shown 1% to 4% defragmented according to the analysis results.
I have ran it 2 or 3 times to defragment the registry.
