I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and Firefox 19 on a slow dial up connection. Sometimes I have a very difficult time doing anything that involves the internet because there is something apparently downloading and taking up all my very limited bandwidth. The little double computer indicator in the bottom tray that lets me know that there is an active connection is continuously lit up. The Task Manager is no help and I can find no indication of any updates coming in. Does anyone know of a way I can tell what's going on? :confused

It's an excellent question. You might find Networx helps get to the bottom of it.

Just an obvious point - make sure there are no unnecessary software updaters running. Most free software defaults to looking for updates automatically and it's often unnecessary.

Thanks Earthling! I'll give Networx a try and see where it goes.:)
