What's the best Mozilla new tab add-on for quick access to selected favorite sites?

  1. I have just been using new tab pages of this sort in Maxthon and Comodo Dragon. Given the superiority of the Mozilla add-ons collection, I figure there must be a good Mozilla add-on for this purpose.

When you open a new tab you can have your favorite sites displayed
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-tab-page-show-hide-and-customize-top-sites

You can add a Keyword to the Bookmark and then simply open a new tab, type the keyword into the url bar and press Enter. All can be done from the keyboard
EG: For this MajorGeeks Software section my keyword is mgs
    - Ctrl + T (New tab)
    - Type mgs
    - Press Enter
More than one site can have the same Keyword and they will be displayed in a list as you type, then you select the one you want.

FireFox add-on SiteLauncher is good but I don't need it now that all my favorite sites have Keywords

Another off-the -wall solution is what I do.

IF you have some web space, free hosting etc., you can make a web page with all your favorites listed and make that page your home page.

Even without web space, a local copy of this works as well, leave a shortcut to it on your desktop and double click it when you have an internet connection and bada boom, you have the page with with your favorite sites ready to go. This local page can also be set to be your home page.

I make mine open the link in a new tab, code is:

    Code:
    <li><a href="[URL="http://forums.majorgeeks.com/view-source:http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21"]http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21[/URL]"target = "_blank">Major Geeks Forum</a></li>
target=_blank is what does the new tab part...

You can get fancy and put your links in tables, sorted by type if you wish...

    This is what I use.

    Speed Dial

You can have multiple tabs, so you can organize your links into categories.

One of the things I like about Opera is that this has been a built-in feature for years now. ;)
