What's the current sate of play with Homeplugs AV2?Any gigabit devices available yet?

Hi guys

I'm looking at upgrading my old AV 200 homeplugs and am trying to work out what the the best options are at the moment.

From what I have read the Homeplug Alliance officially announced the new AV2 standard in January 2012 and said that it will allow speeds of 500mbs to 1.6gbps. I've had a search and all I can find available at the moment are AV2 devices offering up to a theoretical max of 500mbps. I did see mention of a Netgear one that's 'AV2 Powerline +' where a site mentioned it gives up to 1gbps, but looking on the Netgear site for that product it is only up to 500.

So does anyone know when gigabit products are likely to appear on the market?

And if it's going to be some time, what are the best current AV2 500 devices?

Looking at the reviews on there that model is quite old so presumably isn't the newer AV2 standard - presumably another one where they tried to get more out of the older standard?

Looks like Belkin have a newer version and that only says up to 500mpbs, so presumably they realised the older one didn't live up to the claims!

I'll see if I can find a contact link for Devolo, Netgear and Solwise, see if they have any info. I guess they don't put stuff like that on their sites until the are released as it puts off people buying the older models!

Ah, great, thanks for that. I've struggled to find any decent recent comparisons, especially with some results on. I tested mine with iperf and looks like AV2 500 will still be much better than the ones I have.
