What's the most interresting thing you did...

This week, or ever if nothing this week. Share some stories. I haven't really ever done anythinginterresting ever, so if anyone has an interview question, you can ask that and whomever you ask could answer that instead.

 

The most interesting thing I did this week (using "this week" loosely to encompass the previous seven days to today) was get checked into the hospital with double pulmonary embolism.

I started learning Maya!

For those of you who don't know about 3D modelling/animating/rendering packages, Maya is definitley one of them..

Maya is one of the most widley used 3D packages in the world for CG content creation for both VFX in live action films and for animation films. If you ever saw the Final Fantasy movie, that was done mostly with Maya.

I'm hoping to enrole in a course this summer and get my skills up to scratch so by the time I leave school and finish my A-Levels, I'll have a fairly wide skillset available too me and keep my options open. 3D is definatly one of my passions and has been for a while now, worth persuing it I think

Right now my little learning project is modelling, of all things, a goldfish! He's looking pretty good, and I've used a few different modeling techniques on him so far.

I think the Ice-dude was learning Maya at some point? Wonder how far he got...

I worked for more than two days on a C programming exercise, to replace tabs in text with spaces... harder than it sounds. I finally employed a "sloppy workaround" and the dang thing worked!!!

It was from the K&R book, so, I'm so stoked, high on it!

 

Hmmm, this week, nothing, no work through the hall yet and unemployment is close to running out again! Previous to that though, going to Haiti on our mission trip (shameless plug coming up here!!!). You can view the interesting pictures and descriptions at:

And Wenchie, any time you want to do something interesting, go and help those less fortunate than yourself. Sometimes it is hard to fathom that there are those less fortunate than you but there is. Besides being interesting it is quite humbling as well.

 

The only reason dont is that my abusrive X lives at the homeless shelter. When I move i plan to start working on a tonof community projects, id like to make it a standard thing for my daughter, so she grows up well.

 

geez, you're lucky to still be with us. That's pretty darn exciting in a terror filled kind of way.

hmm..this week.. I built a program that will automatically determine custom subnets, IP's and IP ranges for a class C IP address.

 

I love it when you get technical! LOL

 

I've done lots of interesting things this week...the joy of discovering a new country.

I've driven places I've never driven to alone before (not easy when everything is on the other side of the rig and road); I've decorated my very first wedding cake (and taken an order for someone elses as a result); I've got my head around Immigration forms (ouch) and discovered a little english tea house so when I get homesick I can go have a cream tea. Also been to see my fiance's cousin's band....they were totally awesome and it was such a fun evening. Anyone in this area should come see them when they play again in June.

Apart from that...I'm getting married on Saturday! Yayyy :>

 

Most interesting thing.Things I don't want. Trying to make the peace in other peoples disturbances. Re-do'ing my O.S. Trying to learn how to drive this few fangled cellphone.

Wish I had something a bit more positive to report. But not this week.

 

Hmm, I get up, and check email and MG. I come home, check MG and then eat dinner, then brouse MG......

Just kidding!

 

lol.. recently it seems that I'm just getting geekier..

 

I pruned an out of control apple tree in my back yard. Weve lived here for 12 years and we got one apple off it last year. that's how I found out it's an apple tree. Anyways it was a bit of a butcher job on the tree, but trees have survived my attacks in the past. I'll post a pic if it does ok.

 

I've been boring this past week. But then, considering Sarge's excitement, I'll take boring.

Keeping with the topic here though,

I spent 2 years hitchhiking across the US back in the early 90's..
Had a great time, started out in ND traveled south, east and west..
No way I would do it during these times though. Just glad I was able to do it...

I got inasfar as I found out that I couldn't save anything using the Maya Personal Learning Edition with a resolution of higher than 640x480, so I stuck with 3D Studio Max

 

The most interesting thing I did.......I think it would have to be planning Emma's first Birthday Party. I swear I think it is more for the adults than for the kids. I have got 27 adults and 21 kids comming over Saturday. Anyone want to help wiuth this gaggle?

 

I had a blast this week. I got the once in a lifetime chance to

-visit a wing of Tornado's
-get a personal tour of the aircraft by the pilot
-got to sit in it
-got to fly the beast in the simulator.

and was taken for a ride in the WSO seat.

Where do you think I've been hanging out for the last 2 weeks? I'm hoping to go into their Maya Fundementals class which should be coming along pretty soon If you've not been to 3DBuzz before, after downloading lots of VTMs, then get the latest buzznet news radio show

Anyways. max is expensive! I hate that PLE is so restricting, but hey, if I got it licked I can stroll up to a full version and whack out a demoreel just like that

 

Well the most interesting thing that I have done is hit the local bicycle trail here in town. The reason this is interesting is that after an almost two year lay-off from biking I was able to get from point A to point B (15 miles) in 40 minutes!!!

The other interesting part was getting done with the ride and watching the pretty little dots dancing around, cause I forgot my snicker bars!!!

 

Got dressed up in pants, and a white polo shirt, which is big time dressing for me……normal for me shorts and a t-shirt, and sandals…….I was part of the St. Joseph Parish choir that sang, Gloria: by Antonio Vivaldi (written September 9, 1708)….12 songs in all, about a half hour in length, but the hard part, for us, we sang in…..Latin!……..wobbles…….that’s what I did yesterday.

well i went into a meeting with a large company for a manager position with a pay increase that is leaps and bounds better than my 36k a year job that I have now. THAT is the most interesting thing that has happened to me as of late.
