Pretty simple question from a less than mediocre "computer knowledge" guy. I have the trojan.win32.agent.akk issue and it is literally p'ing me off! I have tried almost every reputable spyware/AV program with no luck. I have been through the whole process that majorgeeks recommended with no luck. I just cannot believe that there is not a program to handle this. One that doesnt take so much knowledge of the inner workings of a computer.

i also posted logs (reccomended by this site) to my original post but no one has gotten back to me in reference a fix? Any admin on here reading this, can you help? I posted the original at about 0230 hours last night and still have not heard anything.

    Hi
This thread will be seen in due course by one of the malware staff who will do there best to help you. Please do try to be patient as they are very busy at this time with helping other members.
In the meantime have you run any on line scanners if not there is one here you could try
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Also what anti virus are you running on your computer?

i have already tried the housecall.trendmicro with no luck! I was running a free trial of K7 AV(reccomended by microsoft but have recently uninstalled it). The reason i uninstalled it was because it was not helping me fix this problem. I then was trying other versions of free AV so i didnt want to have several Av running at the same time. Do you reccomend a decent free AV program?

This thing is a pain in the arse!

Everytime i get on IE i ge the popup trying to redirectme to iedefender! It is getting quite annoying. It is frustrating that nothing can remove this from my computer.

i also toggled system restore and went throught the whole process over again. Is there something i may be doing wrong? Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through.

Personally i recommend avast anti virus which can be found here

    Dont forget to register it

As for jumping through hoops i would relax a little and as i have said above one of the malware staff will be with you as soon as they can :)

    Please first run this:
    1. Download FixIEDef.zip by ShadowPuterDude to the Desktop.
    * NOTE: It must be saved to your Desktop or it may not work properly
    2. Double-click FixIEDef.zip, this will create a folder named FixIEDef on your Desktop.
    3. Double-click of the FixIEDef folder.
    4. Locate FixIEDef.bat and double-click on it.
    5. FixIEDef will now run.
    6. Press any key to close the CMD Console when the script is finished.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

    Then:
Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
