beer i'm sure no one her is a stranger to this blessid drink so whats your favorite beer?

i LOVE just LOVE guinness i love it it's like icecream beer (car bombs are great also) oh f@ck i said bomb d@mn it i said it agin pleas keep g.w. off my back it's a drink i swear

then any microbrew dark beer i can tell you how much i love dark beer (might be why i'm fat and lazy) BUT! it tastes good isn't that what matters?

Just a fan of the good ole Miller Lite!! Sometimes Bud Select, and if I want to get REALLY crazy...I'll dive into some Hornsby's Cider beer, but that stuff gives me a head ache more often than not!!

BTW Quite a while back; I lived in PA for a brief period of time and the local tavern there used to serve a Pensylvania favorite called "Frothingslosh!" The beer was made by Pittsburgh Brewing, and the motto was:

"Oh My Gosh It's Frothingslosh - The Pale Stale Ale with the Foam on the Bottom!"

Prohibition, starting in 1920, forced many breweries, distillers and taverns to close, yet the relatively small Pittsburgh Brewing Company managed to survive. Sam Adams (in a bottle, of course) with a 1/8th wedge of lemon or lime stuffed in it is currently the fav in our house!

In Victoria, you can drink at age eighteen, unless you are eight, and have a "w" in your name.

It's leftover from colonial rule, when all the chimney sweeps helpers would need a beer to clear the dust. And they wouldn't go back up the chimney unless they were a bit drunk anyway. The "w' is from the first word of their motto, which was "What the **** am I doing up this chimney?"

Slightly off the beer topic but similar,the chimney sweeps but mainly the coal miners around here were like that,dinner call out the pit 'if they were lucky' to the pub,down a few jars and eat,they ate something called a cornish pasty which was pastry with meat and vegetbles inside folded over and baked,because they didnt have time to get cleaned up before eating or they were still down the pit it would have a huge savoury pastry rim to hold which could be disgarded as it would be full of coal dust,we still have then today but now we can get cleaned up before we eat so we eat the whole pastry rim

hence we are now all fat asses

 

You do learn something new every day! I love Cornish Pasties, but I never knew that about the rim...

another good ones Bintang. Its an Indo beer, bloody lovely ice cold cheep to, about 90c a bottle in Bali, thats about 55c US

Downunder we love our VB (victoria bitter)...green can dreaming!

Am a bit partial to the odd guiness or dark stout though, helps me clear the sinuses.

I'm not really a fan of beers, but if I have to choose it would be MGD light. I usually stick to some Mike's hard lemonade . Its a nice choice on hot summer days.
