    Hi folks

Well you can likely tell I'm in limbo and between tasks a VM update and installing WHS2011 but in setting up my server again, I was looking at the network map layout and thought mmmm don't think we have ever done this as a show and tell before, so its either going to be interesting to see others "home" setups or be a interesting as a wet kipper!

To get a network map in Vista and Win7 the Network and Sharing Centre then click See Full Map for XP dont think it does the same as Vista/7 sadly and dont think mapping network drives works the same but you can try HERE

    Mine

Main Desktop, Laptop, Netbook and WHS2011 server, the bottom stuff is a network enabled TV that's in my bedroom.

    LOL k...I'll play.

I'm a little concerned about what 'Unknown' is. :-D Most likely it's the Wii or one of the kids iTouch's though.

@Laura, yeah its likely to be a media device, do they have Blackberries? but because its between the Switch and your PC it could be another switch/router.

    @Satrow..... ohhhhhh :( always one... ;)

@ Augie, well thats more impressive than many will be, at least you have two PCs on their, and BUGGER I forgot to turn on my wireless printer...... NUTS! *finds nearest vino bottle to drown sorrows* hehehehehe

But thread did better than I thought, at least all have posted something interesting, Laura's ? is a puzzle!

Indeed it would and sad that those down show up, I was going to try a Win Home Server 2011 install in VM to test a few things out as in my Windows 7 Phone has an "APP" for connecting to a WHS2011 box...how cool is that! but I need to install a full dedicated version on a PC which is going on now, so that will allow me to access my server from my mobile and get files off it, as WinMo7 has Office I can open Office docs and also with Zune stream media off the server.

Things just dont get any better than this for a techophile.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Whenever the kids visit and want to get on the 'net, I just assign them a can...;)

I have a few unknown devices showing. My kids come home and hook up with their phones or whatever but don't name them. Eight of the "legs" are in use.
My Win7 map apparently isn't set up to show the full map so this is Network Magic's.

Do I win a prize for busiest network?

Sibeer, impressive and I like the look (cuteness as Augie puts it ;) ) of that network magic, need to try that app out too as the general map in Win7 missed off some of my devices that connect also.

I'll have to get mine from home when I get there. Hopefully I won't forget (old age you know, now that I'm 50)

Ok, here it is. This does not include my wife's laptop, my son's desktop, my son's laptop, our WII, or any of our 3 phones either. Just keep that in mind. I'm not a tech junkie, honest I'm not!
