    I GIVE UP!

Last week I got those "Internet Speed Monitor" popups. Ran Spybot, and Ad Aware 2007. Gone. This week all of a sudden I get these fake message balloons at the bottom right as if they're from Microswoft, telling me I have been infected and need new Antispyware programs and to "click here". No. Then it TAKES OVER MY DESKTOP and REPLACES MY PHOTO THERE with a blue screen and a message that I am fatally infected and need new Anti-Spyware software and to once again "click here"

Ran all my own things, nothing removed it (FOUND a bunch... Virtumonde, the Smith-something or other one, and this microsoft.taskmanager.whatever thingy too.... but it removed them and REALLY DIDN'T REMOVE ANY OF THEM)

Followed the Malware FAQ list TO A T.... downloaded, ran, did EVERYTHING in order and perfectly as you guys have asked. NO HELP. NOTHING IS BETTER. I NEED HELP.

Which log files do I need to attach? I saved EVERYTHING.....

    HELLLLLLP!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
The READ ME tells you what logs to attach. It is also based on what Windows OS you have so I cannot say. Just follow the instructions in the READ ME to the point where it tells you to attach the logs if still having problems.

I could never explain HOW I did it but it appears I got rid of it. How would I know if it's ENTIRELY OUT, if there some kind of check I can run -- maybe run the last one again to get new Log Files and see if it's clean? Or just pray? The popups and everything stopped, and I deleted "default" from the background directory and my Desktop background is not changing again like it was!

    Hi Nikki Feroni,
Please attach the Combofix log and the MGlogs.zip, which you can find located directly under C:\
Also, if there's a log from AVG Antispyware, attach that as well.
Without these, it would be hard for Chaslang to tell you whether your computer is clean or not.
