What have you got already and what is telling you you need more RAM?

the amount of RAM you need will depend on what you are using your PC for, general run of the mill Internet, Games, Office apps... then between 256~512mb is fine.. then you go into graphicly intensive apps like Photoshop, 3Dmax etc that are happy with 512mb~1gb+

I think rule of thumb these days for any OS from 98 upwards that 512mb is norm.

    You might try either

    Analog X MaxMem http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=307
    FreeRAM 3.2.0.1 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download323.html
FreeRAM is 32-bit win95/98/NT/2000/XP freeware program that reclaims RAM from the operating system and applications. This decreases load time and improves application performance

I run Analog X every time I bootup. It frees a lot of memory on my P2/400, 288mb RAM, W98SE system. ME users here have also reported that it helps them. Memory available on my system goes from 57% free (120 mb being used),up to 89% free (32 mb being used), just by running it twice, on my system. In other words it frees up approximately 90mb of RAM.

I boot it up, then run it a second, sometimes third time, to get maximum available memory. Then I close it down as it occasionally conflicts with some programs. Bazza
