whenever i go on password secured page it says: cannot be displayed...???

hello there guys

dont quite know whats going on but it seems that wherever i need a secure password on sites like hotmail, personal online banking and my student log-in page at the university site, i am faced with the 'page cannot be displayed' page-i've followed all of the suggested directions but still no luck...
funny that i can log on here though... confused.

any ideas?

Clear the cache, make sure that IE is using 128-bit encryption. Check the security settings for trusted zones in IE. Try re-registering the crypto files for XP:
Start -> run
Type the following commands:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

Click "ok" on the message.

Reboot and try the site again.

Let me know how it turns out.

 

Got to "Tools then Internet options, and select the "advanced" tab.

Make sure TSL and SSL options are selected.

 

followed both and this advice was valuable - i ran all commands and after a reboot it was working perfectly once again
