    Hello,
as a personal favor to a friend, i took his IBM LAPTOP T21 and a new SYSTEMBOARD (that matches) and promised to replace the old one.

I got home, started to disassemble the laptop, have been able to take out the sysboard and placed the processor & memory on the new board.

Now my table is full of parts & screws, and I have no idea how to reassemble.

Is there a skecth some where for ppl like me that do not think ahead?

    thanks

Laptops really aren't user serviceable, unless it's very basic.

Personally, I wouldn't touch them. Anyway,

IBM has an excellent support site, have you checked or contacted them?

I try to avoid laptops like the plague. But unfortunately, it is part of the job. I've worked on many different models, and still have issues on taking them apart. In the end, the best and easiest way is to make a map/sketch/drawing of everything you take out, that way when you put it all together, you can "easily" get it back together.

I just hate laptops. Except for individuals who require it for their job like my dad who goes on business trips weekly, I just don't see the need to buy one.

Though, when I was in the Navy, there were people buying laptops left and right all the time, cause it was easier to store in the limited storage we had.
