where does the download go?

    I have XP and run FireFox
    when I want a download, like a driver from a products homepage, the file gets downloaded to my desktop.

    my desktop is a mess, etc.,
    How do I change the location of where the driver goes?

    Tools > Options, Main tab. Choose another location.

    You can create a folder (right click the desktop and click new then folder), name the folder drivers and drag all the drivers you download into that folder.

    I created a folder called Browsing Downloads. I drag my downloads into that folder. Inside the Browsing downloads folder, I have a picture folder, an ebook folder and lots of individual files. So my desktop has one folder where most of my downloaded junk is sitting until I burn it, read it, move it off to a USB stick or just delete it.
