where dose outlook save contacts

where dose outlook save contacts, im trying to retrieve my emails and contacts from a partion which its opperating system crashed , even trying to repair it failed can any one help pliz

Do you mean Outlook, or Outlook Express? If Outlook all its data (emails, calendars, contacts) is held in files with the extension .pst. The default names for these files are Outlook.pst and Archive.pst, and in Vista they are by default located in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook. If you are using XP hopefully someone with Office on XP will post the location.

You will need a boot disk of some sort, such as BartPE to access the data on the disk of course.

 

Here's the default XP location -

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
