where have my proggies gone

i recently had to reinstall windows on my pc due to a virus messing things up, now the proggies appear in C in a program file, how do i get them back in Start > all programs? and the colours have gone to 2 and 16 any ideas, is it the graphics driver or summat, and if so how do i get the driver if i aint got the driver disk.... using windows 98

 

You can search for the driver on google. Thats what I do.

 

Your video problem is a driver issue, you'll need to download the drivers for your viedo card. I agree with Badlad, download everest, it'll give you all info regarding your computer. In regards to your programs, I think that when you reinstalled your OS you did not make an extra partition so any program that you install will go to their default folder, most likely C:\program files\**. If you want it installed in a different location you need to specify where you want it installed.

 

so what about my programs, cant i get them back, all i can get is my computer>C Drive>Program files> and all the folders are there, if i click on a folder for instance Ahead Nero burner i get the following folders Cover designer, nero toolkit, nero, nero media and shared, if i click on any of those folders for eg nero i get several more folders appear.... do they need reinstalling from a cd or can i retrieve them from within my pc.. im goin home tomoz so i gotta sort this quick.
