where is my screen

Hey thanks for the reply guys. Well here is what i have.
Abit IL9PRo core 2 duo motherboard.
8400 gs Geforce graphics card.
300 gig sata hard drive.
2 1gig pc2 5300 memory sticks.
a 430 watt power supply.
core duo socket processor.
I've always been good with pc's changing out parts and upgrading and all that but never built one from an empty case but not really intimidated by it so i decided now is the time. i put it all together and at first got nothing no power or anything so i took it to a pc shop and they said i had everything in place correctly i just did not have the power cables seated good. So now i bring it home, cost me $40 bucks to tell me i had it right just needed to push down a bit more on connectors and yeah that was $40 bucks i needed. Anyway now it fires up but nothing on the screen. not even a curser. no beep either. i hear the hard drive fire up the fans are blowing and still nothing. i was told to start with trying another graphics card, boy i really need that $40 bucks,:mad maaaannn!!!!

 

Do get any beeps when you first turn it on?

A few quick things to try. First, are you certain the monitor works? Can you try another monitor cable? Also, make sure your CMOS jumper is not set in the reset position.

Also, check your motherboard manual for the POST beep codes. Good luck, hopefully someone can help you more, I got to get to work.
