While surfing I received an error report "do you want to send this to MS?" While scrolling down I accidentally hit the red x  and cancelled the report so I don't know what it was though the system kept on running fine.

I know there is a copy of it somewhere but haven't been able to find it. Where does XP PRO usually keep them?

    TIA

Type log into Find or whatever XP calls it & press Enter .

I did that already and it gave me 420 entries.lol I checked all the folders called log and probably didn't recognize it.

There were files there that I had never seen those extensions and I don't want touch them for shear fear of screwing something up.

The box seems to be running fine. I also searched using "error" and variants. I guess I'll stick with the motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it":D

    Thanks

    Thanks AbbySue,

I was there when it happened and did not see it, though I knew it was there somewhere.

It was acpi event 10. Googled it, went to MS, Technet, Annoyances, Sourceforge,. Good sites which are now in my favorites:D .

However, I couldn't find a listing of acpi errors. All the articles I've read deal with fatal BIOS errors. My box kept on running and is the same as always.

If anyone can point me to a list, it would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I did find an acpi patch dated Feb 26 on Intel's site.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the links Jmatt,

Here is a more detailed error report

ACPI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal PCI Operation Region (0x20), Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I went to MS and they say that they have currently no information on that error.:( . This error has occurred 15 times since Feb. 12. Though my system was installed on the tenth. it has always worked perfectly. Strangest thing though is why I didn't catch sooner. anyway Jmatt I took your advice and repaired. We'll see what happens.

    Thanks

    augie

<edit>Found the ACPI FAQ. Showed that drivers sit between the core subsystem and the hardware. Installed new drivers.
this happened 15 times since XP install 5 weeks. should know if that was it in a few days.
