Where of whwere as my toolbar gone?

In the ever going saga of computer glitches I experience, my computer locked after a few days if inactivity. Had to do (cold?) reboot, turning unit off then restarting.
Reboot required using F9 key and selecting 2d option from top (do not remember what that was) Reboot successful, however standard toolbar (history, bookmarks, help etc) did not come back up.
How do I retrieve that?

Comp: HP
AMD Athlon (?)
Win XP Pro

Thanks for info. However, that gave me full screen of the page, or a screen with an address bar (www,...) and displays small icons that open bookmark toolbar, the title of the page being displayed, download progress, or Mozilla's start page.
Still haven't found standard toolbar.
