For individuals looking to donate equipment, in many areas Goodwill also accepts PCs, monitors, printers, etc. (call your local Goodwill donation center and check first).

In Houston and other larger cities, they have a "Computer Works" program for vocational training, and a dedicated "Computer Works" store selling refurbished equipment (a great place to shop if looking for older, harder to find parts).

Both options are good advice! Excellent use of still useful equipment!

Do call Goodwill first. Lots of people give me their old computer equipment and I refurbish what I can and give it to folks who need a computer but can't afford one. The odds and ends I have left that still work and have use I take to Goodwill.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again . . . it never ceases to amaze me what some people consider old and "useless" . . . :confused
