Where to discover good music?

where do you guys discover new music? I heard of pandora (www.pandora.com) but is this the only really good internet radio. What about last fm? Is imeem any good, can you do anything cool with it. Let me know thanks.

 

Careful about referencing the pandora forums, you've had some moderation of your past posts because of it. Better to link directly to the pandora app, www.pandora.com. (It's bad taste to "advertise" another forum using THIS forum's resources)

Last.fm is the closest comparable online service to Pandora that I've found.

As to the original question of how we FIND music: I use the radio, recommendations from friends and family, and the odd random acquisition.

try musicovery.com, it's pretty good. However I mostly listen to various 'net radio stations found on http://www.radio-locator.com/

 

I second Last.fm. I use it all the time. It runs next to iTunes and logs what music i listen to in my profile. I can then visit my profile and check out recommendations and similar artists. I've come across at least 10 artists that I hadn't known about previously, that I really like now.

I actually use Wikipedia, it allows me to keep current with the genres and have tons of variety. I'd say that through Wikipedia I've discovered at least 300 artists. Yeah it's an addiction.:major
