Where'd Avast go?

Hi, thanks for this fantastic site. I followed the basic malware removal instructions and cleaned out a nasty Trojan. It was quite a relief and very satisfying.
But I did run into a worrying issue with combofix. I turned off Avast and SuperAntiSpyware as instructed. When combofix was finished it didn't change the clock back (I've taken care of that) and Avast seemed to be gone. The main scanner was still there, but the resident protection had disappeared from the taskbar, and I couldn't get it to turn back on. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to be working ok now. But I did find it a little worrying. Why would combofix do that? Should I be worried?
    Thanks for your help!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This does not normally happen unless your antivirus program itself may have been infected and thus while fixing the malware, your antivirus was broken. Since you did not attach all of the logs requested in the READ ME, we have no way of knowing exactly what malware problems you may have had.
