I just went to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices and found the message "no audio device". I still have sound because I can play CDs, etc. Am I missing some sounds unknowingly and how can I get the audio device back?

    Thanks!

Make sure the Windows Audio service is still running.

This assumes you have Windows XP.
