DECT = Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications - It works in 1.9GHz frequency (should not conflict with things like wireless routers ETC)

I do not know anyone who has compared which versions have greater range, but I suspect the DECT audio is better but shorter range and it uses rechargable AAA's - a plus.

I have used Panasonic phones systems for years. Never any problems with them. If it were me and I were replacing my system, I'd get the DETC.

    Hope that helps.

This is what we got. Picked them up at goodwill for $60 and they were brand new never used or opened. See Goodwill here gets stuff from Target that is damaged and the only thing wrong with the phones was there box was alittle riped. So far the best phones we have ever had. Got to love all the extras on them.
some of the things i like about them are "Talking caller ID" or the "Voice Enhancement Technology" like the slow talk meaning if your talking to someone that is a fast talker when they talk the phone slows it down so you can under stand them or if they are a low talker it boosts there voice.
