Myth...you didn't say which type of connection you want e.g. dial-up, DSL etc, but here goes anyway ;)

I had Pipex when I was in the UK up until January (DSL connection). They are just under 20 quid (where is the pound sign on this darn american keyboard??) and I used them for just under 3 years. In that time I had no connection problems, except one day there server was down for a few hours for maintenance. Setting up was very simple and trouble-free so I never needed their support service. The modem and phone socket adapters were included in the original set up costs. Can't remember how much that was but it wasn't very expensive. There is no fixed contract except you have to give them a month notice if you wish to terminate. HTH :D

How about trying one that doesn't tie you into a contract...see if it is worth the money and decent tech support, and if not, bow out and try another :D I had 512 download speed at £23.45/month (found the pound sign now!!!). It was plenty fast enough for my use but I guess it depends on what you wanna do. I know someone who has Onetel and he doesn't part with his money easily so they must be ok for him to pay them anything ;) Do they tie you into a fixed contract? If not, try them and see for yourself .

Pipex or Demon ( even tho I'm using Wanadoo, there speeds and reliability are good but CS is medium/poor, with severe lack of knowledge... not by all CS agents but they do farm their CS abroad as well and its shows )

good place to do some research on UK ISPs, they also have a monthy comparison from actual users like me or you http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

Personally I rather like PlusNet :) Customer service is REALLY great. Speed is faairly reliable, and they don't BS you if there is a problem.
