Hi I am wanting to install a key logger on my computer, but I have no idea how to go about it. I am after one that I can use on my main computer, laptop and Samsung galaxy 3s. Also wanting to know how to disable incognito and the online keyboard and any other ways the key logger can by bypassed. I am guessing that they don't come password protected so on the home screen of my computer where you click on the user name if I set up a user name with a password can I have all the information send there so it can't be tampered with? Also a key logger that shows mouse clicks would also be good. The person knows that the key logger is going to be installed on the computer and I am wanting to make sure that they won't be able to delete any of the information the key logger picks up. So if I am all over the place but I am really clueless when it comes to computers but hope it makes sense

Greetings, clueless44, and welcome to MajorGeeks.

It's going to be tough getting any advice here on key logging, and act which in some states is illegal as well as unethical.

It would seem that that knowledge should be a sufficient deterrent.

    Good luck.

oh ok I didn't realize that. Is there something else I can use let a nanny or something? Or a way to stop a person from being able to delete the computer history and to stop them using incognito? Its for use on our home computers

I understand your concerns. Why not password your computers and control those passwords so that only family/people who you trust can use the machines?

the person who I don't trust is my partner and he is the one who told me what a key logger is and he is the one who suggested we put one on

You can get decent computer monitoring software for a price. Most are going to cost you money.
On quick look, here's a review:

If you want keyloggers, Major Geeks carries a bunch under the Covert Ops category you can take a look at:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/sortname/covert_ops.html

You'll have to cycle through them.

Btw, as far as I've ever seen or read, Keyloggers and monitoring software are perfectly legal as long as you are the administrator/owner, have consent, or are doing it for parental reasons. People may not like them, but those are the facts.

If someone is doing this as this person is stating and their partner knows and is fine with it, there's not a thing wrong with it.
