I've been wanting to install Linux on my computer for a while now, but have no idea which "brand" to install. My friend recommended Ubuntu. I am looking for one that is free and easy to install. Also, can you recommend a good free partition program to partition my NTFS drive so I can install linux?

I guess I should have added that I do indeed want to keep a dual boot with Windows XP.

http://slax.linux-live.org/ Runs off a cd but you can install it to your hard drive too. I use it off the disc, only problem with that is you loose your stuff (settings)once you turn off the computer unless you save to your hd.
