should have typed : which middle of the road graphics card?

ok, computers been re-built now a 500W power supply and a MOBO with a PCI-E slot. looking to spend arround £50

so without breaking the bank whats good?

nVida or ATI? no idea here,

    128bit or 256bit?
    256MB or 512MB?
    DDR2 or DDR3?
I know the latter is better than the former, but at this price I can only get 2 out of the 3 if i shop arround.

Otherwise the MOBO is by ASrock, sory no idea which one
    PSU is 500W
Ram, currenlty 1GB of fairly slow stuff, will be upgrading to 4GB @ 677 fairly soon.
    CPU is a Pentium D 2.8

An 8500 would be on the higher end of low end gaming. Go for the 8600. Great mid end card for a great price.
