    Hello Everyone

It all started when i got my bro Half Life 2 for Christmas. The graphics are AMAZING! His PC was more than good enough to run HL2. But my PC doesn’t have the spec's to run the game. So now I am looking for a new motherboard that’s a good price for money and more than capable to run HL2. The only problem is that there are so many boards out there I don’t know which one to go for? I was first going to get the new Fatal1ty AA8XE. But there was a lot of concern about the Motherboard being an Intel, instead of an AMD. Then I was going to get a DFI LanpartyUT NF3 250GB. But I'm not sure if it had an PCI-Express. I would like some opinions about the Fatal1ty AA8XE and what your view is. As well as the DFI LanpartyUT NF3 250GB. or maybe someone can point me in the right direction as to what motherboard I should go for.

read the spec of the game.
amd is good, xp2000 or higher
the card must be a TL class (and new RETAIL, preferably, because they damage easy, as I found out)
the mother board must support AMD. go to the AMD website and see their specs. you will see abit to zytech. I have asus, but should have went abit, easier overclocking and front bus activity.
whatever you pick, make sure your video card supports TL activity and DO NOT share the IRQ. the memory must fit the board type, and more sometimes is not better. config swap may be the key.

    good luck.

Thanks for the advice! I have gone for an ASUS motherboard, A8N-SLI Deluxe, and am pleased to what it offers. I am also impressed with ASUS, as they seem to produce good solid motherboards. The PC I built for my father is also an ASUS and he is very pleased with the board. I looked up the AMD web site to find some helpful advice there too. The AMD Athlon FX seems to be the CPU chip I need to go for. I am still reading up on it (too much input  )

    Thanks again
