Which piece of my computer is being obnoxious?

okay, here's the deal, whenever I start a game or have the computer up for 4+ hours it'll crash (sooner rather than later) with the following error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Computerspecs:

Windows XP Home, SP2
AMD Athlon64 3000+
1GB ram (2x512)
MSI K8HTB mainboard (Via K8t800 chipset, has the latest Hyperion 4-in-1's)
Nvidia GeForceFX 5700 256MB - also has the latest WHQL drivers
Seagate 160GB HDD
DVD+/-RW
DVD-Rom
Onboard junk: AC'97 Audio, 100/10 LAN, Firewire, USB2

I've tried re-installing every driver I've got, but the problem persists and is beginning to become highly annoying, so if anyone familiar with msdn can find what's causing that error I'd be very thankfull

edit: I've also scanned for virii and spy/adware, both came up clean.

 

is it always the same message? u might want to start by testing your system stability using sisoft sandra or prime95... this error can be caused by faulty ram. if prime95 should get an error u should take out one ram stick and run prime95 again to find out which ram stick is the weak link...

yes, it's always the same error.
I've checked it with Prime95 but it doesn't crash or give errors, nor is it heat related cause I'm running with the side of the case open and idle temps are about 33*C for the CPU, stressed it hardly ever gets above 42*C.

make sure that u run the Blend test (lots of ram) in Prime95 and that u let it run for at least a few hours... if u havnt done so yet, updating ur mobo bios may help
