Hi I'm looking to get a new printer in the 100-200$ range, before I do I thought I should be asking if there any brands of printer that has software problems.

Just typing my subject I see HP has alot of issues so that's one.

I ask because I had a bad experience with an entry level Lexmark printer several years ago. I have a new PC and don't want to mess up the registry or get a sluggish system.

I should probably just ask which printer company has the best trouble free, easy to intsal/uninstall, doesn't bloat your system software? If that even exists.

I have a Brother printer and their software works fine for me. I have my printer connected to a router so it's available to three computers via the router. Each computer has the software installed. If ink is low or no paper is in the printer, alerts pop up on the screen. Many printer functions can be controlled from the computer. I haven't noticed any negative performance impact on any the computers from having Brother's software installed.
