I’d like to check out Tor. I see MajorGeeks has a variety of Tor bundles for download. But I don’t know anything about these other apps that come bundled with Tor.

So, what ARE these other apps, and which bundle should I download?

BTW, here’s the skinny on my current browser situation, in case that matters:

I’m running IE11. I also have Edge installed (it came with Win10, like it or not), but I don’t like it.

I also don’t like that Google keeps pestering me to install Chrome, but I’ve been told that unlike IE, Chrome allows you to search your Favorites / Bookmarks on the fly. That’s a capability I’d really like to have.

Also, I’m taking an online course that seems to play better with Chrome than it does with IE.

So I guess I’ll have to install Chrome after all.

    Suggestions?

Get Tor for windows direct from the authors site as it comes clean!
MG's wont mind as they also link the authors site.

I do not recommend installing additional addons or plugins into the Tor Browser as these may cause a bypass to the Tor network.
By default, Tor will block browser plugins such as Flash, RealPlayer and others as these can be manipulated into revealing your IP address.
Remember that with Tor, true anonomousity depends on the end server your heading to and how it handles your request, https sites are recommended.......traffic is encrypted to and from your host to the Tor server, but not from there if the end site does not use https.

Personally I stay away from TOR. I've heard too many negative things about it.

    I did too about Win10, and Win8, and Win7, and Vista.....even XP,2000 and 98.
    But that didn't stop me!

That's true but the federal government doesn't track people using the mentioned systems. Even if everything you do is perfectly legal it isn't worth the risk to me.

ISP's don't like Tor as much as they don't like VPN....Its not illegal to surf the Dark Web, but what you do there that matters.

The Fed's can force ISP's to divulge certain information if the law says it must, when requested, but again this depends on your ISP and only if suspicious activity is red flagged.

Don't listen too much to others Justin.....tread your own path for learning, always stay within the bounds of the law, and utilize the internet for all its worth to you in order to further your future learning & abilities!

If you notice your webcam light activate for no reason, smile and wave hello! :D
