which trojan?

hi alll thanks in advance

i was wondering if anyone knew what trojan this may be from the symptoms(a friends comp so no hijack this log) winfixer was on there along with some other dodgy spyware applications

desktop items re add themselves if deleted
sleep mode comes on constantly
comp crashes frequently
the more you try to clean the pc up the more it plays up i.e i put adaware on it and it went wild
crazy colours all over screen

i have seen this trojan before and every time you download something to fix it ilike spybot and the others it just crashes so much that it wont even turn on
and when i tried to re format it completly wiped the hard drive

It is not always that easy to tell exactly which malware item you may have. There are just too many of them and many do similar things. Frequently they also do not come by themselves. Most PCs always have more than one thing wrong. Winfixer is typically scene with a Virtumonde infection.

Formatting a drive is supposed to wiped the drive! So I'm not sure what you were thinking.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Please follow the steps below:

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
