I have just updated my Firefox to version 3.6.22 it tells me I should update my Adobe Flash Player. I am running Windows 2000 pro and I have Adobe Flash Player 10,1,102,64 installed. The newest version of Adobe is 10.3.183.7, but the system requirement does not include Windows 2000.

With Windows 2000 which version of Adobe Flash Player should I be using?

I've searched the Adobe website and can't seem to figure it out.

Please can someone steer me in the right direction??

The easiest way to solve this would be to uninstall Flash Player via Add/Remove Programs. Then launch Firefox, go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on the "Adobe Flash Player" link in the "Downloads" section on the right. This should automatically set you up with the newest version available for FFox and Win2000.

I had the similar troubles with Opera today. Used Revo Uninstaller to remove 3 programs that were part of Adobe and re-installed all again.

Thanks for your post, even though I don't use FFox or Win2000.
    It got me thinking. :-D
I think all is well again. :wave

plodr when I went to http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/10462/ and checked the Technical tab it did not include Windows 2000 in the Requirements. Is that an oversight on their part, or does this version still work on Windows 2000?

If you go to my current version 10,1,102,64 at http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/8674/ it does include Windows 2000. None of the newer versions above my current version includes Windows 2000. I'm confused and a bit afraid to go to any version higher than my current one. What do you all advise. By the way thanks to all who responded.

I have this version installed and working on two windows 2000 computers. Few sites will list anything below XP SP3 because support has stopped for all windows versions below XP SP3.

I have uninstalled my old version and installed the new one from and installed it. It seems to work fine.

Is it really necessary to install the IE version? I never use my IE anymore.

In that case, it's not necessary.

I do not use IE BUT I do keep it patched. So my advice is contrary to what usafveteran has said. I'd patch it or pull the windows 2k computer off the internet.

I think you're probably right plodr. I'll do like you suggest.

Thanks to all who have responded. Again I know I can always rely on all of you.
