Which Wire goes Where?? front panel to AAFP

1. Blue. Mic-In.
2. Yellow. Mic-Bias.
3. Black. Ground.
4. White. Spkout L.
5. Green. Spkout R.
6. Brown (dark grey). Return R.
7. Blue. Return L.

These are the wires from an X-Blade ATX Case Front panel.

The MoBo is an ASUS M2A-VM.

In the user guide it calls the connector a AAFP or Analog front panel connector, but the connection description for the wires is totaly different.

It supports HD and or Legacy AC97... so please help... Which Wire goes where??

On page 1-30 (Adobe page 42) there's a diagram for HD and for AC97. Your connector is AC97. So go into your BIOS and set front panel for AC97 (details on page 2-25). Then power down, unplug the power cable, and connect the front panel wires:
Your Blue wire goes to MIC2; your Yellow goes to MICPWR; your Green goes to LINEOUT_R; your White goes to LINEOUT_L; your Black goes to AGND. The remaining wires don't go anywhere. Now, there's a small chance that I have the Blue & Yellow reversed, so if your Mic doesn't work, switch 'em. Keep in mind, with most motherboards, the rear sound ports will be disabled when the front ports are connected. For this reason, many people keep the rear ports because there are many more configuration options (like 5.1 surround sound if your board supports it).
