While adding SAS and SpywareBlaster: should TeaTimer/SD-helper/IE's WD be diaabled ?

I will be installing both SUPERAntiSpyware (Free) and SpywareBlaster, which are already downloaded to my download folder. I need help to ensure compatibility and to successfully do the install/update/run first scan on these.

And I believe (but not sure) that I should (1) complete the install/and scan on the newly downloaded SUPERAntiSpyware (Free) before the next step.
I do understand that I should update/immunize/then run the scan on Spybot S&D, and then update/run the first scan on SpywareBlaster.

What I need clarity on is:
    (1) In Spybot S&D: should TeaTimer and SD-helper resident protection be temporarily disabled (unchecked) or only TeaTimer ?
    (2) Should IE8 WD (Windows Defender) be temporaily disabled ?
    (3) If items in 1 and 2 above should be temporarily disabled; when, during SpywareBlaster's installation or scanning or both ?
    (4) Does item 3 above apply to SUPERAntiSpyware's installation or scanning or both ?

I'm running: Windows Vista x32, IE8, avast (free), Spybot S&D, and Secunia. All software are latest updates, including windows update. IE8 runs clean with Windows Defender (WD) enabled. Spybot's resident protection (TeaTimer and SD-helper) are enabled and run daily with no problems.

I'm just not sure when realtime protection needs to be disabled (unchecked), so it doesn't conflict with another program's scanning activities.

I will appreciate any help you can offer.
    Thanks, George

SpywareBlaster does not do scanning. It is passive protection.
Just install, check for updates and then click "enable protection". That's it.
You just need to check for updates about once every 2 weeks; it rarely updates oftener than every 14 days or longer.

Thanks to Domluc and to plodr for your useful post's,

    Your info was very helpful.
I added both programs and everything ran OK.
I have been considering adding Comodo Firewall (free version), but first I will learn more about what it does/how it works.

Thank you both for your info.
