i have an HP 6730b laptop with windows 8 (upgrade) . when i start the computer i get a white screen and the following error : your computer has suffered from a nonrecoverable system error, Please call our support line for assistance 713-634-2494....this error occurred after i did a windows update and also happened on the windows 7 that was on it before the upgrade.I have tried different antiviruses and malwarebytes to remove the virus but none of these work...I believe it is a bios virus (i have also flashed the bios) ..Has anyone had this virus? or can give me any information on how to remove it, i am out of ideas..thank you ...macs

    You're welcome.
It is not an installed program. It is built into the system bios and you would more than likely not even know it was there. This is how it hides from thieves. Are you the original owner of the PC or did you get it second hand. It may have been originally delivered with LoJack.

Some people have suggested that reflashing the BIOS twice may help ( there could be two copies that need to be over written ). I tend to thing that Lojack would have thought of this and that they designed it so that thieves cannot work around it. They may have their code installed in a special device which is not erased when the BIOS is reflashed. You may want to try calling that number and ask them who they are. Don't tell them who you think they are? Ask them who they are and why that message would be on your screen. Don't let them do anything to your PC unless they come right out and tell you that they are Absolute!

If this is a problem due to LoJack, you are likely going to have to provide proof that you legally own this PC.

i bought the computer as refurbished so I am not the first owner.. it set around my shop for 2-3 months, then i decided to give it to my wife , then I discovered this problem, thinking about putting new bios chip in it if I can't correct this problem....or toss it in the river lol....thank you for your response..i will post solution if I come across one..
