Who Uses ESET Antivirus?

I just installed the trial version of ESET Antivirus. It seems to have Spyware protection as well. During installation it said to uninstall any other Spyware protection programs or it could ruin the ESET install.

Is this true? I went ahead and continued installing it even though I have Spybot Search & Destroy on my system.

Should I have uninstalled Spybot first? Should I do it now or do I still need Spybot? I figured that I should keep it because it provides great protection with Firefox immunization... But I dunno if that would make sense using it if ESET has equal protection as well. I'm not sure it does though because I'm completely new to ESET.

    Thanks

    According to this link: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=237386&highlight=ESET+Spybot,
    That's all I found.

PS: No, I don't use ESET

I don't use TEA TIMER protection on Spybot Search & Destroy. Thanks for the quote and hey I did find this answer on a forum about using two Spyware protection applications at the same time:

I don't know how legitimate this answer was because it was from yahoo [answers].

If no-one else will be able to reply here on MG, or when in doubt, one can always post a question in the Wilders Security ESET forum link that I posted in my previous reply. ;)

Hey thanks a lot for clearing that up DOMLUC that sure does help. Yah I don't have Tea Timer enabled, I only use SDHelper with that. Although I'm not sure if SDHelper does me any good when I believe it only protects Internet Explorer not Mozilla Firefox which is what I use.

& hey OMA that Wilders Security Forum link was much help too. I'm going to give you guys a couple of thank you's on your posts!

Interesting... But Dom how does "Resident Protection" differ from what you mentioned in your previous post as being a "Resident Security Application"? Wouldn't that be one in the same? I'm still learning about security applications. :-D

Thanked you again DOM thanks for clearing that up. What do you personally use as an AV since you don't seem to be using ESET?

I tried to use that with the same settings and it slowed my pc down to a crawl. I was very disappointed. I'd been using AVG for as long as I can remember but the 8.5 version was eating away at my system. It would take 10 seconds just to open up a folder with pictures or music inside! AVG 7.5 was smooth and reliable... What a shame...
