    hi
i recently added a old hard drive to my pc, i wasn't exactly sure what i was doing was right but it worked out. i unplugged DVD burner witch was located on the same ribbon cable as the original hard drive and hooked it up to the old hard drive, witch works well. here is the problem, i used a secondary ribbon cable to connect DVD burner to the mother board in the secondary slot. but i have done a search for it on my computer but were is it??

Have you checked that the ribbon cable is well connected - at both ends? Does a light come on on the burner? (Make sure the power connector is well plugged in).
You might also need to jumper the burner to master (not slave).

    Hi

Give this a review HERE and if you have as GCWesq has posted setup the CDROM correctly on the cable as master device, then try the below

    What Windows version you using?
Do you have any yellow ! marks in device manager, if yes then next to what?

Could be that the upper and lower filters are corrupt so run this HERE
