why cd rom freezes

    trying to boot win xp,but when I press any key the cd rom stop spinning and it freezes

    Are you trying to boot the CD or your installed XP? If you are trying to boot from CD, do you get a message asking you to press enter to boot from CD?

    The CD may be damaged, check the surface for scratches or dust. Try booting from another bootable disk to verify it's not a hardware related problem.
