Why, How, Who told you to, or what is the reason you picked your Avatar and Name

My name is my middle name (taken from an avant garde classical composer) and my avatar was suggested by Wenchie relating to it and the title goes with that.

Avatars change with my mood. I kinda get tired of looking at the same old thing and what are all those graphics that I collected in my 'graphics obsessive phase' for anyway.........

 

My name is my "alter-ego" on message boards, and came about because there were several problems with former members of the board I moderate and I wanted to go to the boards where they'd been running off at the mouth to see what they were up to, and to warn the admins there what was going on (people really are children, even if they're supposedly adults). My "real" online name is Felix4067, which is my cat's name and my house number. This name is my other cat, who died a few years back.

My avatar...well, I'm a Parrothead. 'Nuff said.

my name because it's just what I've had for ages and ages, started at rconline, used it at 3df, just kept it. Would like to change, but hey, then noone would know me.

The name, well...I used to go as 'Bullet' on 3dfiles...but I started running into trouble with it being a commonly taken name.

So I took Adrenaline...added some y's, and so far, I be unique!

 

My avatar is pretty irrelevant to my nickname. It's anti-taco as you can plainly see

Kodo is the shortened version of my original online gaming name that I derived from the the style of Martial Art I studied. My original name was Osensei Kodosan. When I started playing tribes, my tags and my name were too long so it was shortened to Kodosan to fit. Then people would just call me Kodo. No relevancy to the musical drum group "Kodo" from Japan.. and NO relevancy to the weasel in the Beast Master.

 

Once long ago in a college dorm far away we had these two guys named Jeff. One was bigger and so we called me macrojeff and microjeff. Well, I was somewhat deviant back then and mentioned once my goal was to become less deviant ....somehow during the discussion it came to someone saying I needed to microdeviate instead of macrodeviate.....

Anyway hence the name..

im ashamed to say i used the aim "put in 3 words and come out with a screen name" tool. but it fit perfectly. the avatar is kinda a place holder until i find something that really fits.

 

I was bored out of my mind.

(Gawd, it's an ugly bird isn't it!) Why can't we have some cool bird with colour, it really is like a big grey chicken! Maybe that's why I have tweety! It's supposed to represent our industrious nature etc and the legend behind how the kiwi lost his wings is pretty cool. I think I will keep looking, maybe a more cheerful, colourful animation.

Well, for me, It was an IRC chatroom that did it. I used to frequent a lesser known server hosted somewhere in australia, and there were 2 rooms, which were rivalling each other (one of the Ops ran off and started her own room...). But anyway... I wanted to go in to the rivalling room, but i was associated with the original room under my old name "Stonethrower". I have no idea why I chose that name, i think it was supposed to be somthing remotley scottish. Not that I'm scottish anyway.

Anyway, I chose my new name because I thought it was a nice peaceful name (not likley to cause trouble in the new room...) and because I've got a memory like a..

...

eh...?

Oh yes alanc I've got that album sitting on my desk right now, its amazingly good! SACD is the best!

Oh yes and I made the avatar myself, appart from the background which Wenchie kindly animated for me *huggles*

 

I remember the days when you were kodosan, but you know it was just too long to type. If you're rolling with e anti-taco avatar perhaps I should represen the pro-cannoli. Gotta show people the beter way my frien, you kil the tacos, I'll make cannoli.

what is the reason you picked your Avatar and Name

My original Avatar was a chocolate chip cookie because they're my favorite -- and I didn't want to pick an avatar on the first few pages of the avatar listings because I figured more people probably chose those and didn't want to see a lot of duplicates out there.

But after a lot of postings I changed it to this rotating smiley face...I like to see the positive in things and people and I hope I "cheer" others on to do what is good and right and so I thought it was a "good fit" for me.

The name "pegg" is what one person in college called me. It takes my first names initial "P" and puts it with the first 3 letters of my last name "Eggleton" = pegg. Never used it for anything else...thought it would be good for here; (better than "egghead" and other various "egg" names I was called in school)

laurie is my real name...B is the initial of my last name. i would just have laurie but its taken or too short, or something (either on this site or another). i have enough difficulty remembering who i am without calling myself something else lol. i havnt got an aviater coz i havnt a clue how to get one!!!

LOL. Yeah, it's pretty drab. Not animated, but this one's cuter...

 

Click on "User CP" (user control panel) at the top of your screen, then click "Edit Avatar" on the list at the left. You can either pick one of the standard avatars from there (over 100 to choose from), or you can upload a custom one of your own. Custom avatars must be no larger than 64x64 pixels, and under 8 Kilobytes in size. Can be either still pictures or animated .gif.

Right-click the picture & save it to your computer somewhere that you can find it easily. Click UserCP at the top of the screen, then "Edit Avatar". At the bottom of the page, click the area next to Use Custom Avatar, then browse to where you saved the image. Click Save Changes & you should be done.

Google is your friend. I found this, but it's too large for here, and I don't have any software that will shrink it without losing the animation. Wenchie, AbbySue, or one of the other artistic types should be able to shrink it for you.

Well I came to MG during a time in my online gaming career where I was trying to rid the gaming community I was in of a certain person and his foul ethics. I was originally Shadowchaser (a name I have used for 14 or 15 years now) but changed it to Wraith due to the meaning of that word as follows:

I wanted the online "death" of someone from our chosen online game (DF2). This person has since left the Delta Force realm and will most likely never return as I caused him so much grief and he accentuated it by inept attempts to publicly debate me on his errant behavior. It was obvious to everyone around him that he was to blame and eventually he left. I have since quit using that name but keep it in "reserve" in case I need a "white knight" persona again (ok maybe not so "white" LOL)

My avatar is from Star Trek and represents the burning desire of Klingons and their honor an loyalty.

No title yet, been here forever, asked many times, got no results and think I will never have a title so I have given up on it. Oh well, I'll just accept what I cannot change I guess..

Yeah. I can make it small enough, but it loses so much detail you can't even tell what it is. Avatars need to be fairly basic. Too much detail doesn't work well.

 

My username is dperino because it's the only one I can remember on those nights that it's hard to remember things.

My avatar is what it is because,,, well,,, it's just so damn cool. kinda reminds me of me.
