Why, How, Who told you to, or what is the reason you picked your Avatar and Name

I tried to send you an email, but it said you don't want emails, which I can understand. You probably get a lot of requests. I can always use one of the ones lostkiwi pointed me to, so I'm happy.

Read the reason for your Avatar and besides being beautiful it comes from a beautiful heart.

Most graphics programs allow you to resize an image. Some better/easier to use than others.

Simplest way if you're using WindowsXP is to download their free image resizer. One of the MS PowerToys for XP.

It does a good job of preserving the details in the resized image, is small and simple to use. Just right-click on the image in any Explorer window, choose Resize Pictures, and it pops up. It has several default standard sizes, but click Custom and you can specifiy the image size. Only thing tricky is picking the size for a non-square image. Choose proportions about what the original was to keep the image from getting stretched out of shape.

That's what I used to resize Lurch and the above dolphin, after using another program to crop the image to just what I wanted to use.

got the resize programme already. made it both small and 'hand held pc' size but it still diddnt fit. so what dimensions do you put in the advanced settings to make it fit? (just for future reference coz im gonna keep this one as it was a gift.

ps i took that photo. i have a bunch more really beatifull ones if anyone wants to see.

Max image size for avatars is 64 pixels on a side, so a square, or nearly square image works fine at 64x64. For a wide or tall image, you can mathematically figure the ratio of hight to width and apply that to the image, using 64 for the largest dimension (if you're a Gottheit), or simply mess with different numbers that are similar in proportion, and see what looks right.

Yep. Computer images, and your monitor screen resolution, are generally defined by pixel size, not image size. Some photo software lets you define the image either way, which can be handy for photo printing, but for computer images, pixels rule.

The Tinker I have is a wee bit too large for an avatar, but I'm really fond of it. Like I said I can resize regular gifs and jpgs, but not animations. Using Irfanview. If you are still willing I'll give it a try.

Name: I needed a new name and liking fire-arms, I was putting different combo's together when magnum and double aught buck came together. Then it had (avitar) the secandary Magoo, and just hunted for a magoo animated, but it didn't resize on this board, got a little help from one of you here, I'm all mixed up now on who did it. The magoo seems quite fitting as my eyesight has gotten bad from welding and now from staring at a screen, the cartoon was quite interesting in the day. Wish I had that kindof luck all the time.

 

GT, thanks for Hermann. That's great. Bloody AOL strikes again. It will only save as *.art or *.bmp. MG won't accept these. I will have to convert avatar/image to *.gif. Will do shortly. Gotta get my CV up to date as I am applying for a job today so it will probably be tomorrow, now. I have a conversion program but gotta remember what it is called and how it operates. As you can see, I too have a custom title!
It was given to me the first time I posted a pic. That was a long, drawn out affair, but eventually GT and some others were able to explain to me how to do it. The pic was of me holding a book that had a horse on it. That, and because I kind of come from a horse town (Kentucky Derby -- Churchill Downs - familiar to horse racing fans). I suppose that's why I got my title.

The avatar? Well, now that I always use the Linux, I wanted an animated Linux avatar. Here, Tux spin into a rocket, then shoots off. What fun! Get it? The fun OS!

Also, I have been kind of "rocketed into another dimension". I'll spill the beans:
Some people can drink, get high, its okay.

But not other people. They have problems with that kind of thing. Me, well, I'm one of those "other" kind of people.

Ken is my nickname, and the 3 means I was the third James Kenneth in my family. My avatar - I found it at some avatar site that was mentioned here around the time avatars was first allowed. Since I play the keyboard at church and enjoy playing the piano - it stuck. Haven't really looked any further for others.

well, when i would play games growing up, and the system would ask for my initials for getting a top ten score, i would use ACE (kinda egotistical now that i think about it)...so, when it came time to get an email address (when I was 17), i wanted to use ace, but needed something to go with it...and jones just kinda flowed all too well. so i used acejones and i've been using it ever since.

my avatar? i can't keep the same one for a long time. my first one was a baby monkey rocking back and forth. then i had an animated Homestar Runner avatar that i made, then i made this space ghost, b/c i think space ghost coast to coast was funny.

Hmmm. My name comes from the fact that i play a STRATocaster guitar and I like cats...the pic came from a picture that Bluesman posted about a cat and some guys drinking tequila etc....as far as my title...well I have no clue which gods I angered and as of yet noone will tell me *sniffle* LOL

Because I like to play golf, and my name is John.

 

Because the Ocelot is my favorite animal and I got the Ajax logo as my avatar. Ajax is my favorite football (soccer for Yanks ) club.
