Why is IE S-O-O-O gd SLOW?

WinME: Yes, I'm on a dialup (don't have a choice, living in the woods). IE pages take forever to load, often with the "Cannot display page" crap without refreshing. Don't have this problem with Firefox. Can anyone explain, PLS?

 

Open IE, click tools and select options. On the security tab, ensure that your security settings aren't excessive. You can also check on the connections tab, that the you only have automatically detect settings is checked. See if that helps.

Also make sure that the TCP/IP Stack is optimized for Dialup.
