why is it...? (Quicktime and download issue)

Hi! here's my problem...
I recently installed Quicktime and I thought everything was ok, but now I discovered that when, let's say.., I want to save an .mp3 file on my pc, now, when I click on the file, Quicktime launches in a new page in Firefox and plays the file. That's not too bad, but I want to save that file!
I looked at the preferences in QT but couldn't find a sollution...

Let me give you some more tips..
say.. when I find a good song on a server and I want to download it.. and leftclick on it, a quicktime player launches on the next page and starts to play.
BUT I WANT TO SAVE THAT ON MY PC.

But you know nothing about me,my music collection or the amount of money I've allready spent on buying music. Hell, I even buy vinyl. I don't know you either yet I'm shure that you haven't bought all of your music.

Okay, I had mistaken the date, and looked only at the time, but there's still no justification for calling these fine folks names.

And I don't mean to lecture, just filling you in with forum policy. It is clear that you are asking us to help you get an illegal copy. We can't help you.

 

Mada_Milty, after reading your last post I didn't even wanted to waste my time with writing back but I couldn't resist.
Where did I called names? Did I said that people here are dumb?
I just wanted to tickle the smart people ( I know there are a lot here) to help me. Just look at the smiley! (what's it doing there?- oh yeah it's just smiling)
I guess we both have different kinds of humor.
Just one more thing: You don't want to help me 'cuz I want to dl an illegal copy of a song? ok. What about helping people who have a virus etc.. on their pc running an illegal copy of windows?
You don't have to write back. You have made yourself clear. Just think about my last question.

 

Just going to post this info. I never left click a .exe file or any other file I wish to download. I rightclick the file. There are legitimate mp3 download sites, that are not controlled by the RIAA, simply they are free downloads. That is my 2 cents.

Sites that I go to alot are: http://www.acidplanet.com/ Music created with acid music pro (and similar apps from sony).

 

If you're using a free version of quicktime then I don't think you can save the file. If you are using Quicktime Pro you can right click the player in Firefox and click save file as...

If it is only .mp3's you are trying to save you could try associating mp3's with a different program than Quicktime that way QT might not open in FF as the player.

 

That's what I use and I own QuickTime Pro. Quicktime has gotten way too bloated!

you will have to navigate to the place you want to save it.

problem solved!!

I did run adaware, spybot and avg. get rid of quicktime...pretty much tried everything.
--------------- RIGHT-CLICK AND SAVE works just fine...
