Appart from plaguarising being very illegal and downright stupid, you've got to be careful how the authors have used spellcheck....

Even for those not familiar with Chemistry that is a glaring mistake. The difference in meaning between morality and molarity is ludicrous, yet the author blindly clicked the red squggly line and checked off whatever the first option was.

The rest of it isn't exactly great either.
First they state the bleeding obvious, then they muddle with their words when explaining neutralisation - something they should have got completely clear at GCSE (basic qualifications taken at 15/16). Then they say that all scientific experiments will go acidic if you add too much acid. I guess that's true, but not really got much to do with volumetric analysis.

Later on they state they will use UI, which as anyone who's done a titration before will know is next to useless (it doesn't have a threshold and so cannot be used very accurately).

The last bit before the snip is rather more worrying
    Don't shake the WHAT?

I don't know. That website is supposed to have exemplar scripts - and even I, a rather inept chemist at best, can see is complete tosh.

Could be a tongue in cheek way to stop plagiarizing (sp?). Anyone who copies it deserves what they get? Bazza

No, it's too - serious sounding. Only an authentic student could write that stuff.

Maybe it's done on purpose so it seems like it was written by him/her.

It could be do not shake the flask or burette otherwise the solution mixture could spill or splash out rendering the experiment useless.

I remember doing A-level chemistry where a similar experiment was set in an exam. One student decided that he wasn't getting the full measure of his acid from a pipette and proceeded to blow the final drop out. Needless to say that was the wrong thing to do as the acid rebounded from within the flask and sprayed over the student's face. This resulted in a severe disruption to the exam and the student writhing in agony.

I notice that there are other typographical errors and the sentence structure is not good. The structure of the experiment description is a template that is used for description of experiments at primary schools.

I expect the evaluation had lots of things about "fair tests"

Thankfully I don't do practical exams in chemisty, we do coursework and the practical itself isn't assessed. I have an amazing talent to pour/throw various chemicals around by accident. I've poured stuff onto the bench by accident 4 times at the last count, overfilled a Buchner funnel with concentrated acetic acid - most of it ending up on my hand (that really hurt, actually), and thrown hydrated iron sulphate crystals, copper suphate crystals, copper oxid, zinc powder to name but a few solid products in various places. Thankfully never on a person, though. I let a burette leak on the floor with potassium permangenate, and squirted bromine on the desk - thankfully in the fume cupboard.

Take up knitting, Goldy. The world would be a safer place. :D :D :D
Seriously, anyone able to do chemistry is a long way ahead of me. Bazza
