Dear M.Geeks. I have a major problem (only since this morning) connecting with Wi-Fi in Windows 10.
All was working fine last night before I went to bed. When I woke up this morning I couldn't get an internet connection via wi-fi. However, my ethernet connection is fine.
I have reset my router (HUWAWEI HG633) countless times and have spoken with tech-support with Talk Talk (my ISP) and there appears to be nothing wrong with my landline or router. It would seem that the problem lies with my computer but I have no idea what has happened.
Interestingly, my smartphone gets connected to my wi-fi but there is not even any signs of my pc detecting my router at all. Usually, I can see my neighbours' routers too but now - nothing whatsoever.
Even when I go into Network Connections there is no sign of a wi-fi connection [see screenshot below 'Network Connections'].
When I click on 'new notifications' in the bottom right-hand side of my screen and click on 'Connect' [that's where i used to see my router connect options], it says
"your pc or mobile device doesn't support miracast, so it can't project wirelessly"
I never saw this message before and don't know what it means.
I'm completely puzzled as to how my wi-fi was working fine before I went to bed then seems to have completely disappeared when I woke up this morning.
My PC is an Intel Core i-5-44600 3.20GHz OEM 64bit x54 Processor and my OS is Win10 Home.
Ive tried to update all drivers in Device Manager but everything there appears to be up to date. Someone mentioned that it could be something to do with Qualcomm Atheros WLAN and Bluetooth Client, but I have no idea what that is.
Also enclosed is a screenshot of my Network Adaptors from Device Manager.
Has anyone heard of this type of thing happening before?
Any help would be very much appreciated. It's driving me insane.
    Thanks in advance.

Your wireless adapter has disappeared entirely from Device Manager so possibly it has failed. What is the make and model of your PC?

Oh no! How on earth has that happened, I wonder?
My PC is a Packard Bell iMedia S2885.
    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi guys,
Just a quick note to say that I have resolved the issue. I went to the Packard Bell website and downloaded the Atheros WLAN wifi adapter download for iMedia S2885.
It took an eternity to unistall the previous remnants but after using the Tweaking.com Windows Repair it finally allowed me to uninstall it. After reinstalling Atheros it now works fine again.
Thanks to Earthling for giving me the (kinda obvious) nudge in the right direction. Much appreciated.
    Kind regards:
