Widescreen

I wanted to ask about Widescreen Films and DVDs but before I get into it does anybody know about this Stuff?

I meen Pixel Aspect Ratio and things?

Well this is what I wanted to ask?

In Digital NTSC Videos a Standard Non Widescreen is 4:3 and yes this is just a Ratio.

This means it will be 4. Units Wide by 3. Units High so if you are making a Screen to show it on and you are using Feet you would make it 4. Feet Wide and 3. Feet High.
Or you can make it using Yards and you would make it 4. Yards Wide by 3. Yards High.

Now this is just the Display Aspect Ratio.

Now the Pixels that make up the Image are have a Pixel Aspect Ratio.
So if the Digital Video is NTSC DV 4:3 the Pixels will be close togather so it can keep the Square shape.

So the Resalotion maybe 720x480 but the 720 Pixels will be Close to the One right next to it.

Am I right on just this?
