wierd firewall problem please help. :confused:

i uninstalled kerio firewall a few days ago (removed all files and registry entries etc manually as well), rebooted and installed ZA pro. the problem is i revieve a messege warning me that i am running 2 firewalls. i uninstalled ZA pro and windows security center tells me kerio firewall is running. Huhh??. I've gone to folder options. the show system folders otpions is checked and the show hidden files and folders option are checked. i have searched high and low for any evidence of kerio/sunbelt with no joy (i've tried safe mode and it is not in add/remove programs). could anyone help me. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

You're saying you manually deleted the program file folder? I would re-install kerio and uninstall it using CCleaner

 

yes, but i manually deleted the folders after uninstalling the program from add/remove programs then rebooting.

 

Okay, I see. Well, maybe this will help:

1. Hit windows key + r (or click start --> run)
2. Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without the quotes)
3. Press enter (or click ok)
4. From the 'View' menu, select 'Show Hidden Devices'

Now, we will look for 'Firewall Driver' and 'Kerio HIPS Driver'. If found, remove by right-clicking and selecting 'Uninstall'. Reboot, and try your installation of Zone Alarm again.
