Hi guys something wierd happen to my com today. All my .exe files are disabled and unable to run. All my links become show .Ink files. I think my registry was modified by a worm but i cant change it back as it has already disabled even my command prompt. So any idea wat to do next?

Ps i cant even identify the virus

Oh i have tried to open it in .cmd format and found the error. However when i finished making the changes, there is another .exe file that do not allow me to replace. Meaning that when i rename the regedit.exe, i got the original sitting ther and a new regedit.cmd. So what do i do from where? Really confused...

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Well what we really will need to see is if you can run the steps (at least as much as possible) further down. I also want some more info but you did not even provide what your OS is. Thus I have to guess.....so I will assume Win XP.

Go to C:\windows\system32 and get me a list of all files and their sizes that end with a .com extension. Don't do anything with them. Just get me the list.

Then see how much of the below it is possible for you to do.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
    .
