Wierd Zone!

I have Win XP, use Zone Alarm fire wall, AntiVir antivirus, Popup Stopper. My problem is that Zone Alarm shows internet traffic all the time, even with the phone line physically disconected! (I use dial up). I have checked the computer with AntiVir, SuperAntispy, AdAware, A-Squared and Spybot, after updating all. What is happening and how do I fix it please?

 

I used ZoneAlarm (free) for quite some time and noticed the same behavior. Literally hundreds of port scans you name it. I switched to Kerio4 and the port scans dropped drastically.

ZoneAlarm is a good firewall, but I think, at least for the free version, some kind of programing is put into ZoneAlarm to make the user think there are more attacks on their computers than there are in reality, so ZoneAlarm will appear to be really doing a fine job. Why the developers would do this is beyond me since as I stated earlier that ZoneAlarm is a very good firewall without having to prove a point.

I have read in other forums folks with the same opinion as mine on this issue. This "wierd zone" as you put it can be annoying but it's not detrimental.

My daughter has ZoneAlarm and she has the same thing happen as you do.
Again, this is just my opinion about ZoneAlarm and if someone comes up with another reason for this behavior for which there is a workaround, I would be glad to know about it so I can correct it on my daughter's PC.
