Hello I have a HP Pavillion notebook 15 Laptop. Windows 10 64 it, with 4 gigs memory.

I have had problems for two weeks and cannot seem to solve the wifi connection issues. My wifi cuts in and out constantly even when my wireless symbol shows connected. We called AT&T thinking maybe it was the router but it is not. So I disabled and enabled my wireless card drivers, I tried updating them. I went to cmd and put netsh ip reset and still have the same issues. So far nothing has worked.

I have this problem with both my IE and firefox connecting one minute then the next page wont load because it cannot find a server. So I know it is the internet connection.

I would appreciate any help at this point I need to solve this issue.

    Thanks

Hi, I followed your thread in the Malware (specialist) forum and am glad TimW was able to clear you on malware issues. Wifi and Win 10 aren't my forte', since I don't use either of them. Yet, I will try to start you off here in the right direction. Major Attitude has a sticky in the hardware forum, "Tips to Improve Your Wireless Network Performance", where you will find a link to some great information: http://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/how_to_improve_your_wireless_network_performance.html

See if any of these tips can improve things for you. Also, check your device manager for any yellow/red flags. Maybe someone else will join in here with some network/wifi diagnostic test solutions, which might shed some light for you. Are you still experiencing a sluggish system?

Hi thanks yes checked hardware device first thing uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. . Also we contacted AT&T to make sure the router was good and they updated the firmware ect. So the above tips have already been exhausted.

    Thanks

If no other computers in the house have the problem, then it is your computer.

To troubleshoot, connect the laptop to the router. If the connection is stable then you know it is hardware, specifically the wireless inside the laptop.

You can try to see if HP provides a better driver for Win 10. If not, then you might need to a) replace the internal wifi or b) by a new wireless dongle that uses a USB port.

(Me, I'm a chicken and would opt for b simply because I'm afraid to disassemble any laptop or netbook).

Yes - if the OP has any other devices (tablet, smart phone or smart TV) and they connect fine then it is that sole device.

Okay so how do I find the internet card to see what I need to order?

Just another question should all this stuff be under the wifi adapter in Device manager. See picture

Great link Max! It tells it well:) I was just recently reviewing the HP support forum and several people had problems, when these drivers are missing. As long as nothing is flagged and no errors such as "Windows cant load drivers" is showing up, these should be fine.

Nothing is flagged. I find it strange that my wifi shows up and is on but often the pages say cant load page or server not found one minute and connects the next. It acts like the card is fine but connection is off and on. The card picks up other routers in the area too.

Have you tested the connection with an Ethernet cable?
